The Great Gateway 2 – 8

Throughout the day, Samuel formed his plan. He would use the monkey’s aid to hop the gates and then work out where he would be spotted. Then he would enlist the help of the human materials and signposts to make his full escape. The only thing he hadn’t thought of was what to do next. Maybe this wasn’t such a good idea?

Alice encouraged him to go onwards though. She held back some tears but was happy to see she had a “brave” son.

Night came and Samuel made for the monkeys again. He dug a big enough hole for them to escape. “What now?” he asked.

“You head for the gate and stay alert. We’ll use the trees to give you a foothold to climb over with. Then we’ll help you work out where the security is.”

They did just that. Samuel suddenly felt really good. He felt like his dad. That made him feel bad too. They reached the edge of the house. Samuel stared at it thinking how it was used, until…

”Kid RUN! They’re coming!”

Samuel didn’t quite understand until he saw two people fully equipped with the ways of catching Samuel. He ran the opposite way… straight into two more. They picked him up and carried him away. He didn’t try to resist at the time.

”What do we do with him sir?” one asked.

“What else can we do?”

The monkeys looked very fearful. “They’re taking him in there. That’s bad! Samuel is as good as dead!”
Chapter 8. I had to rush this! Sorry...
